My theory is not to crowd anyone with longwinded instruction about notation, scales and endless timecharts; but to show them how to do one simple thing. Make the instrument work! We work on how to make your hands, feet, arms capable of making the instrument produce sound and of course, Music! There is lots of routine scale lessons anyone can lay down on the table. But how to groom your eye-hand coordination to be able to actually play the song the way it was designed, make the same sound as the recording, play the song so it sounds right, is really what everyone is setting out to do! that word "Practice", then there is no stopping them! I had to teach myself, so I had no one to show me where to begin. Along the way, yes I was good enough to start playing with more experienced musicians whom have all shown me some great shortcuts or tricks. The fun and joy is all in the learning! Then one day, you get to share your skills by teaching someone who was just like you!
